Haverfordwests premier fashion boutiuqe required a content rich website with a simple design philosophy to alllow easy access for users of all abilities. Working closely with bonkers fashions allowed us to push the boundaries of our abilities to the limit in order to provide a website needing minimal maintenance whilst allowing for frequent conntent modification.

Bonkers Fashions requested we design a set of print media to help promote their new website in the local community, aswell as opting for some advanced features on their website. 

Design Overview

The website design requested was for a simple, sleak design that's formost consideration was ease of use for users off all levels of ability. With this in mind Sky-works were also required to design a site can be updated easily and frequently, with advanced behind the scenes options such as mailing lists, google maps API and thumbnail image galleries.

To achieve this it was decided that a content management system would be the easiest route, making use of the advanced features of PHP / MySQL. Sky-works customised the free Joomla CMS to fit the needs of the website, including the use of flash image rotators and an MP3 player to keep guests capivated as they move about the site.

This also allowed us to setup webmail and mailing lists on the website, making it simple for Bonkers Fashions to keep in contact with their clients through an email template designed to match the website look. Bonkers Fashions have begun transfering their old paper based client database to the mailing lists, allowing faster, easier contact about sales and new season stock.

Bonkers Fashions also required the website to link to their supplier websites whilst remaining within their own website. Using a "wrapper" in the content management system made this possible, keeping the fashion content of the site upto date as individual suppliers change their clothing ranges, without any need for an update to Bonkers Fashions' website.

Promotion Tools

Bonkers Fashions requested we design a custom set of print media to promote and enhance the impact of their new website on existing and new clients. Sky-works designed matching business cards, newspaper advertising campaigns and street flyers to help generate interest  in the new website.

In order to promote the website online Sky-works designed each page with search engine optimisation in mind, presenting W3C valid code and highly relevant content. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) refines the website in order to achieve top positions in the major internet search engines (such as Google, Yahoo and MSN), ensuring Bonkers Fashions webpages appear as one of the first websites on the search engine. In the first three months from when Bonkers Fashions website went live the site had achieved a top ten ranking on google for a large range of search terms.

Sky-works provide all websites with a method of tracking visitor numbers and page view statistics via Google Analytics (pictured left). This allows Bonkers Fashions to track the number of visitors, and which pages are most or least popular with these visitors. This has led to the website design being optimised to match visitor habbits, increasing the popularity of all pages within the site.
